Thank you St. Basil Academy Volunteers

In a rare moment of inactivity, volunteers from St. Basil Academy pose in front of the equipment shed that they cleaned and organized.

Children’s Village is especially grateful to the tireless volunteers from St. Basil Academy who eagerly, efficiently, and joyfully rolled up their sleeves at Children’s Village again this year. The students dedicated their time and energy tidying the equipment shed on our play deck, cleaning and reorganizing the items. Children’s Village Education Team will seize the momentum of these volunteers by adding photographs to the labeled shelves to keep the shed in tip-top order.

The play deck is a beloved space at Children’s Village, reflecting our commitments to learning through play and promoting healthy bodies and minds.  Children’s Village opens the door to high-quality early learning and academic enrichment for 414 toddlers, preschools, and school-age students (K-7th). Most are from low-income families and speak a language other than English at home, circumstances placing them at-risk of school failure.  What takes place in our classrooms sets the stage for academic and life success.  But we cannot do it alone.  We appreciate St. Basil Academy’s volunteers and are also grateful that St. Basil Academy shares our belief in power of quality education.
