Children’s Village is home to Philadelphia’s first adult Learning Lab embedded in a high-quality early education program. Our administrators and teachers train program directors, educators, and university and high school students.

Supporting young students takes even more than dedicated, highly trained professionals. The classroom environment also has a profound impact, especially helping young learners focus.  We are creating a calming, warm environment. Every element of the design, including the addition of children’s bathrooms in classrooms to create a more self-contained classroom space, will better safeguard the health, well-being, and supervision of children.

The upgrades will ensure that our classrooms best suit the needs of our students and are conducive to hosting adult learners. Seeing, feeling, and hearing high-quality teaching in action is powerful. Such observations combined with our peer-to-peer approach truly set us apart as a training program.

Establishing our Learning Lab is no small task. We’ve secured nearly 90 % of the project’s $1.6M total cost, including grants awarded from the William Penn Foundation and The McLean Contributionship.  To complete our plans, we must raise $175,000.

We ask you to seize an incredible opportunity: Children’s Village’s founder and Board member Jim Martin is providing $25,000 to match dollar for dollar all donations made by December 31, 2018.

DOUBLE YOUR DONATION.   DONATE securely online now or download the Gift Form and mail your gift to Children’s Village.  The Gift Form includes information on naming and sponsorship opportunities!

Fully realizing our vision for the Learning Lab includes adding an adult training area and renovating our facilities. In fact, the Learning Lab training space is open and our classroom improvements are underway.  Scroll for photos.
