Take a Look at Students’ Artwork Created with Clay Studio

Children’s Village is pleased to share photographs of ceramics recently created by our School-Age Program students with the Clay Studio.  Again this year, we secured a grant from the Philadelphia Activities Fund to help cover the cost of Clay Studio’s Claymobile Program.  Suffice it to say, the children (and teachers) loved it.  You can view students’ work here: School-Age Program Ceramics

The artwork complemented the Project Based Learning theme: Architecture, Building & Construction.  Children’s Village has been renovating our classrooms.  The improvements are part of our work to establish Philadelphia’s first adult Learning Lab embedded in an high-quality early education program.  Construction took place in the evenings and on weekend to ensure minimal disruption to our educational program—but that does not mean that the renovation was not front and center nor incorporated into the curriculum!  Teachers seized the opportunity to educate students about the construction taking place around them through the PBL theme.
