Generating Extraordinary “Dividends”

Instead of paying taxes directly to Pennsylvania, eligible businesses may instead support a qualified Pre-K Scholarship Organization, like Children’s Village.  This strategic investment yields long-term benefits, including a well-prepared work force.

Here’s How The Pre-K Tax Program Works:

  • 100% of every dollar up to $10,000 and 90% thereafter up to a maximum of $200,000 donated to a pre-kindergarten scholarship organization, like Children’s Village, can count towards one of several Pennsylvania state taxes.
  • Qualified businesses, including pass-through entities, may apply the credit against the following Pennsylvania state taxes:
Personal Income Tax, Capital Stock/Foreign Franchise Tax; Corporate Net Income Tax; Bank Shares Tax; Title Insurance & Trust Company Shares Tax; Insurance Premiums Tax (some exclusions apply); Mutual Thrift Tax; and Malt Beverage Tax.
  • All applications must be completed and submitted online using the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development’s (DCED) SINGLE APPLICATION for assistance. You can submit online application starting July 1, 2019.   Applications are processed on a first-come, first-serve basis — SO PLEASE DO NOT DELAY!
Access the online application at or
  • When your application has been approved, designate your contribution to Children’s Village Child Care Center Scholarship Fund.

Making An Impact That Lasts A Lifetime

Last year, businesses participating in the Pre-Kindergarten Tax Credit Program earned tax credits — and, in turn, opened the door to academic success for many children in need.
