Children's Village Achieves Accreditation from the Council on Accreditation

Children's Village is excited to announce that we recently achieved accreditation for our School Age Program from the Council on Accreditation (COA)! While we’ve maintained accreditation from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC)for over 25 years, NAEYC accreditation covers our program for children up to 4th grade. Our School Age program serves children up through the age of 13, or 7th grade. COA is the national entity that evaluates school age programs and achieving accreditation is a testament to our organization’s ongoing commitment to providing the highest quality care and educational experiences for children and families.

The journey towards accreditation was a rigorous process spanning over eight months. Led by our Program Director Jewel Davis-Tombul and School-Age & Staffing Director Eileen Flannery, the team conducted a thorough self-study and evaluation of programs, policies, and procedures. Over 250 items of evidence were submitted, demonstrating a dedication to excellence. The process included multiple reviews and evaluations by COA specialists, where valuable feedback was received and new policies were implemented to enhance the quality of services.

Achieving COA accreditation not only validates the exceptional quality of Children's Village’s programs but also enhances its credibility and trust within the community. It reassures stakeholders, including families, donors, partners, and government agencies, of our adherence to rigorous standards. Moreover, accreditation opens up new opportunities for funding and partnerships, enabling further investment in the organization’s mission and vision.

This significant milestone is a collective achievement, made possible by the dedicated staff, passionate educators, supportive families, and invaluable partners. Together, we will continue to strive for excellence and make a positive impact on the lives of children and families in the community.
